Is Coloured Clay for Me? – A Two hour Online Introduction Talk

(2)

This two‑hour online introduction gives you a clear, inspiring overview of coloured clay, helping you quickly understand the technique and decide whether it’s the right next step in your ceramic practice.

Course description

Date & time: Thursday 24th September 7 – 9 pm

Are you curious about how coloured clay could enrich your ceramic practice? Wondering what’s involved in getting started, or considering one of my longer courses but want to be sure it’s the right fit?

This two‑hour online presentation will introduce you to the joys and challenges of working with coloured clay, giving you a grounded sense of what this surface‑decoration method requires. By the end, you’ll have a clear feel for whether coloured clay is a direction you’d like to explore further.

  • Online presentation format — This session is delivered live online as a presentation and guided talk, making it easy to join from anywhere and learn in a relaxed, accessible setting.
  • Three inspiring artists — You’ll be introduced to three ceramic artists who use coloured clay in distinctive and inspiring ways, offering a sense of what’s possible with this technique.
  • Equipment and safety — You’ll learn what equipment is needed to develop coloured clays, along with essential health and safety considerations. By the end, you’ll have a confident sense of whether coloured clays are the right next step in your creative journey.
  • Questions and next steps — You’ll have time to ask questions, and I’ll outline possible next steps to support your development.

At the end of this introductory session, you’ll have a deeper understanding of how coloured clay can be applied creatively and safely within your own ceramic practice. You’ll leave with a clear equipment list to help you get started, along with £25 off your next course or 1:1 session booked with me within the next six months.

What’s included: The presentation after the session, which includes an equipment list
