Four Wonderful Independent Shops

As the holiday season is upon us, I wanted to tell you about four wonderful independent shops that stock my work. All are in very different locations in the UK, so whether you live near them or plan to visit their County this summer, you might find a new place to enjoy. And, of course, they all have beautiful websites, so you can visit them from the comfort of your sofa.

I have selected these four retailers as they have all been supporting my brand for several years, and like myself, they are all independently owned and love handmade items.

The first is The Oak Tree Pantry and Gifts in Anstruther, Fife. The Oak Tree is a quirky gifts and pantry shop based on the harbour of Anstruther, Fife. They specialise in unique handcrafted furniture and decorative gifts.

They are Geoff, Fiona & Brook. Their little gift and pantry shop in Anstruther Fife is bursting with unique products handpicked. They seek local small businesses with a passion for quality and quirky gifts. I love to see my work next to the other special handmade items they have selected for their shop.

The 2nd retailer is Homefront Interiors in Bath. Homefront Interiors can be found in Margaret’s Buildings, a beautiful pedestrianised independent shopping street in Bath located just around the corner from The Royal Crescent, a World Heritage Site, and one of the most iconic views in Bath.

Locals and visitors agree that Margaret’s Buildings is a hidden gem of a street and well worth a visit with its eclectic mix of independent shops and cafés. Seeing your work displayed so beautifully in a different location is always thrilling.

Beck Steps Gallery in Grasmere, Cumbria, has been buying my work since October 2020. I love that Matthew and Caroline always come and collect the work they purchase from me. It is lovely to meet wholesale customers in person.

Husband-and-wife team Matthew and Caroline run Beck Steps Gallery in Grasmere. The gallery stocks original, high-quality art and craftwork sourced from artists and craftspeople in Cumbria and other parts of the UK. On the centre table, you can spot two of my 250 ml Hand-thrown Stoneware Ceramic Cups in Dark Blue- Grey and Pale Grey-Blue.

Finally, Blue Lias Gallery in Lyme. They have a beautiful, colourful, sometimes odd selection of art chosen from the heart to make you smile.

You can browse their online gallery or pop into it in the centre of Lyme Regis on 47 Coombe Street. The shop is brimming with beautiful local craft. Seeing my bowls and jugs displayed together with other stunning ceramics is lovely.

I hope you have a wonderful summer and relish looking around new beautiful shops, whether online or in person.
