Ceramic Artist Karen Dawn Curtis will guide you step by step through the basic techniques of slab building a vase. You will then be shown different technique on how you can decorate your vase with coloured slips. We will look at sponge and brush application, mono-printing and paper resist. By the end of the session, you will have made a colourful vase decorated using above techniques and three ceramic tiles of your experiments with the three decorating methods. Your work will be glazed fired and will be ready for collection within a month of the session. This workshop is suitable for beginners or those with some experience of clay. The price of the workshop includes all materials needed to make the set project, tools and two firings. Karen Dawn Curtis’ workshops will look to create a relaxing environment where your imagination and creativity will be given space to thrive. Aprons will be provided but it is advised that participants wear clothes they are happy to get a little clay on. This includes all materials needed to make the set projects, firings and expert tuition. Lunch is not included. However, my studio is a 5 minute walk to Bridport Town Centre where you can purchase lunch from a range of shops, cafes or pubs.
